Nike‘s giving sneakerheads another reason to run with them.

With its brand-new app, SNKRS, the swoosh is giving users the chance to access the men’s and women’s catalog for some of its biggest franchises, including Air Force 1, Air Max and Jordan, among others.

Fans of the brand’s DIY sneaker site will be able to take advantage of the customization process on the new app and also see behind-the-scenes details on some of Nike’s most popular styles.

The aim? To make it easier — and faster — to shop the kicks you love with a simple tap.

Advance app access will be granted to eager shoppers. You can score a spot among the chosen few by visiting Zoom City SNKRS Station located at Bowery and Great Jones streets in NYC, or log in to the site to check out the new platform early.

The athletic company is no stranger to the app game, with its hugely popular Nike+ Training (which acts as your own personal trainer) and Nike+ Running (so you can track your route in addition to measuring key metrics: calories, pace, distance, etc.), but this marks a more product-focused turn for the retailer.

As for now, it’s anyone’s game in the app world. At the start of the year, Under Armour launched UA Record, allowing users to monitor their fitness activity, while Finish Line, Macy’s and Nordstrom have all been getting into mobile activity, too. But Nike’s biggest matchup is sure to be Adidas, which announced a sneaker app of its own earlier this month. Adidas Confirmed allows shoppers to reserve their favorite pair for in-store pickup at their local branch.

So it all boils down to: delivery or pickup. What’s your sneaker preference? Tell us @FootwearNews.
