Deckers Promotes Dave Powers to President

Deckers Brands announced the promotion of Dave Powers to president of the company. Powers' primary responsibilities will be overseeing omni-channel initiatives and brand management.

Dave Powers is the new president of Deckers Brands. Powers will oversee the company’s omnichannel initiatives and manage each of the brand teams. Angel Martinez, who previously held the title, will remain CEO and chairman of the board of directors.

Powers joined Deckers in 2012 and has most recently served as president of omnichannel, where he managed retail and e-commerce operations, as well as Deckers’ international wholesale and distributor businesses. As president of omnichannel, Powers oversaw the launch of the Ugg concept shop in Tyson’s Galleria in Virginia as well as other digital projects.

“Dave has been instrumental in the growth and transformation of our business over the past few years. His work developing our omnichannel model has dramatically enhanced how consumers engage with our brands across retail, e-commerce and wholesale,” said Martinez. “I’m confident that further aligning our brand portfolio and consumer-centric market strategy under Dave’s leadership will move us closer to achieving our global vision for the company. I look forward to working with Dave in his new role to continue to build shareholder value.”

Before joining Deckers, Powers was a VP of global direct-to-consumer and licensed retail at Converse and also served in executive positions at Timberland and The Gap.
