Abbott Out as Keen President

Mike Abbott has exited as president of Keen Footwear after less than a month in the position.

Abbott, the former COO of Specialized Bicycles and COO and CFO of Burton Snowboards, was appointed president of the Portland, Ore.-based outdoor firm on July 8. According to a Keen spokeswoman, the brand “made the difficult decision to part ways with Mike, and they wish him the best in his future pursuits.”

The timing of Abbott’s exit is unclear, but the announcement came on the eve of the Outdoor Retailer trade show, which starts today.

Keen will continue to be run by owner and founder Rory Fuerst.
