Kendrick Lamar’s pgLang label first teamed up with Converse last Spring, a fewyears after the debut of the creative agency. Now, they are back with a new edition of the Chuck 70, releasing next week.
In 2020, Kendrick Lamar announced the formation of pgLang, a service for creators founded by the Grammy-winning rapper and his partner Dave Free. Functioning as a platform for artists of all kinds, the ‘multi-lingual’ organization is geared towards helping creators tell their stories, whether it be through music, film, television, books, podcasts, and more. In 2022, they worked with Converse to launch the brand’s first collaboration, featuring some unique pairs of the Chuck 70 and Pro Leather Ox. Now, they are back with another take on the Chuck 70, this time featuring a mystery box release of two slightly different variations. The shoes come in a black canvas upper, with tan logos on the interior heels. The lacing system features the same metal eyelets from their previous release, as well as backwards inscription on the left heels. The variation comes in the color accent of the midsole – the right shoe comes with either navy blue or bright red, while the left features a simple tan shade for both styles.
