The Nike Waffle One is the latest sneaker from the Swoosh to revitalize their vintage footwear, this time revamping the classic waffle-soled shoe invented by Bill Bowerman in the ’60s. Check out the Waffle One “Net Mesh”, coming soon.
The Nike Waffle One has begun its initial rollout process, kicked off last month with the release of the Social Status limited-edition version colorway. Now, new colorways are beginning to emerge, giving us a better idea of what to expect from the latest retro-inspired Nike silhouette over the next year. Today, we have an early look at an upcoming new iteration of the Waffle One, replacing the previous mono mesh upper with a new net-like mesh fabric. The new material appears to feature wider gauges in the mesh, presumably making these pairs more breathable, a welcome change for the Summer. However, the appearance of some unknown symbols on the outside heel of each shoe indicate this could be a part of a special release we are simply unaware of right now.
NIKE WAFFLE ONE “NET MESH” RELEASE INFORMATION
Nike’s upcoming mesh rework of the Waffle One has not yet been announced for release, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming Summer months from both Nike and select retailers. Borrowing elements from popular collaborations with the Waffle Racer, the Waffle One will come with a much lower price tag of $100.
