Nike recently began dropping new product through their .SWOOSH program, an exploration into the world of gaming and digital collectibles. This week, they announced a new “Low Poly” edition of the Air Max 1, coming soon.
Nike launched .SWOOSH earlier this year, a new program that brings together the world of sneakers and gaming. The project also includes digital versions of iconic Nike shoes available to wear in-game, like in NBA 2K or Tekken 8. This week, they revealed their latest project under the new label; the “Low Poly” Air Max 1.
Nike unveiled the first physical pair of the new Air Max 1 style through Kai Cenat, the immensely popular streamer who recently signed a groundbreaking contract with Nike. The special-edition pair takes on the shoe’s classic red and white color scheme, but with an effect inspired by retro gaming aesthetics to make it look like it was rendered for the PS1 or other early consoles.

Nike’s next release from their .SWOOSH gaming program is scheduled to launch on October 8th, 2024. The “Low Poly” edition of the Air Max 1 will be available exclusivley to .SWOOSH members via preorder, for $150. Orders are expected to ship approximately four months after the release.
