During the SNRKS Showcase event a few weeks ago, Nike unveiled a wide range of upcoming releases for the rest of the year. Among them was a new City Series edition of the Dunk Low, this time celebrating Berlin’s legendary nightclub culture with a blacked-out, leather edition of the sneaker.
Nike’s Showcase series on their SNKRS app has given us a look behind the curtain at plenty of releases for the next year. June’s event was only the second livestream of its kind, showing off all kinds of new releases, from brand new silhouettes to rereleases of some fan favorites, and new spins on several of their icons, like the return of the City Series Dunk Low. This time, the silhouette is headed to Berlin, celebrating the merging of fashion, nightclubs, and industrialism in Germany.
The “Berlin” edition of the Dunk Low is a return to form in storytelling that Nike used abundantly throughout the early 2000s. While we see plenty of Dunk releases right now, none feature this level of detail-oriented design. The special-edition pair celebrates the city’s famous nightclub culture with an all-black look, also nodding to their fashion sense with black patent leather. The print around the heels nods to tattoo culture in the city, while the cool grey shade represents the industrialism of Berlin.

Nike latest entry in the classic City Series, this time celebrating Berlin, has not been announced for release yet but is expected during the Holiday 2024 season. Dressed in black and grey with numerous leathers, pairs will be available from both Nike and select retailers for an expected $130.
