The Air Max Sunder is one of our favorite retro Nike releases of the past few years, and they have done a great job of updating the classic shoe with new colors. This week, a “Blue Gradient” style has joined their upcoming release slate.
Nike’s Air Max Sunder from the turn of the century got its first-ever retro release this year. The return of the iconic zippered running shoe was heralded by a collaboration with CdG several years ago, though those pairs were made in small numbers and are hard to come by. The Sunder has seen a surge in popularity online since then, pressuring Nike to reissue the model for the first time since 1999.
With a few releases already under their belt, including a Gore-Tex pack, their upcoming releases for the rest of 2024 and 2025 have begun to appear. This week, we have an early look at a “Blue Gradient” style currently expected to be a Spring ’25 release. This pair features a neoprene upper that fades from light to dark blue starting at the toes. The rest of the shoe comes in black, with a tough more blue for the Air bubbles and perforations.

Nike’s new “Blue Gradient” style of the Air Max Sunder retro does not have a release date yet, but is currently expected to release sometime in Spring 2025. The black and blue look will be available from both Nike’s SNKRS app and select retailers with its new price tag of $180.
