The Air Max Plus has been a quiet source of focus for Nike this year, continuing the shoe’s twenty-fifth anniversary celebration from last year. This week, the Swoosh announced a new special-edition pair, celebrating the Italian city of Naples with a fresh bright blue color scheme, coming soon.
The sleek Air Max Plus from Nike has been a major part of European sneaker culture since its introduction in 1998. Then called the Air max Tuned, or Tn for short, the model is beloved across the UK and Europe thanks to its unique upper and stunning colorways, usually in bright hues to mimic stages of the sun. Last year the model turned twenty-five years old, and the Swoosh has been celebrating with OG colorways, new variants, and some limited-edition pairs, the last of which has emerged this week.
The next special pair of the AM Plus to arrive takes the silhouette to the coastal Italian city of Naples, mimicking the city’s pristine blue ocean water for its inspiration. The mesh upper is cast in a bright blue shade, with pixelated white spots that look like sea foam washing up on shore. Black borders the rest of the shoe, throughout the mudguard and down to the sole to complete the new look.

Nike’s latest special-edition pair of their Air Max Plus has been scheduled to release early next month, on September 5th, 2024. The bright blue pair which honors the Italian city of Naples will be available from the brand’s European channels as well as local retailers, for an expected $185.
