Early this month, New Balance unveiled an unusual new model, the Made in UK Allerdale, a dedicated walking shoe. Built like an upscale sneaker, the all-leather, simple model has surfaced in a new white colorway, coming this Summer.
New Balance has always been a brand dedicated to walking and taking care of your feet. When the company was founded in 1906, the sole product in their catalog was a set of sole inserts that provided extra cushioning and gave you a ‘new balance’. While their products have evolved tremendously since then, walking and comfort are still at the core of everything they produce.
This year, the Boston brand is getting back to those roots with a brand new walking silhouette, the Allerdale. Produced exclusively through their Made in UK program, the shoe is meant to be a simple, everyday wear sneaker with premium materials and a durable comfort, thanks to Ortholite inserts and sturdy traction for the outsole. Originally unveiled in a dark brown color scheme, an all-white look has surfaced this week ahead of the shoe’s official debut.

New Balance’s release of the new Allerdale silhouette does not have a set date yet, but is currently expected to launch sometime in Summer 2025. The premium walking shoe from their Made in UK program will likely be available from both NB and select retailers, with a price tag set at $250.
