New Balance 997 Made in USA “Moonrock” Releases in December

New Balance’s 997 triumphantly returned this season, joining the Made in USA Seasonal Collection for the first time. This month, the model gets a new “Moonrock” update, which arrives just before the holidays.

The 997 from New Balance is back this year, after a couple year hiatus in releases. The iconic runner, originally released in 1990, is exclusively produced through the brand’s Made in USA program, but this year has entered the more limited Seasonal Collection. This subdivision of MiUSA is the label creative directed by Teddy Santis of ALD, which will debut its first 997 style next week.

The new colorway for the 997 MiUSA comes in a palette of neutral shades, a common theme among the Seasonal Collection styles. The look features a tan mesh base layer, adding shaggy suede and leather overlays in Moonrock and Driftwood, both slightly different shades of tan and off-white. The tongues feature unfinished, exposed foam for an added retro feel.
