New Balance is adding a new silhouette to their current Made in USA lineup, from creative director Teddy Santis. This Fall, the 993 returns to the specialty line, reintroducing the mid-2000s runner to the arsenal with a “Castlerock” and sea salt color scheme.
Since Teddy Santis’ takeover as creative director for New Balance’s Made in USA line, the specialty products have issues seasonal collections, swapping out some models for different ones every few seasons. Last year, they added the 998 to the lineup, bringing us a wide range of colors for the older running model. This year, another member of the 99x family is making a comeback, the 993. Originally released in 2008, the chunky runner was a part of the MiUSA ‘Essentials’ line a few years ago, before being put on the back burner and only used in special-edition projects.
Earlier this year, the 993 released in its first styles under the new Made franchise. The model launched in bright green & purple colorways, followed by a neutral white look at the end of Spring. Now, the silhouette returns for Fall with colors to match the changing seasons. Seen here in its new “Castlerock” look, this pair features brown mesh bases with matching leather mid layers. The outer paneling comes in a grey shaggy suede, while sea salt accents complete the look.

New Balance’s next release of their 993 silhouette has been set to release next week, on August 15th, 2024. The “Castlerock” and sea salt color scheme rejoins the Made in USA program, releasing from the brand’s website and select retailers for an expected $220.
