New Balance is still hot on their 991v2, an update to the 2001 runner that premiered at the end of 2023. Now, they are gearing up for Spring with fresh colorways, dropping the “Wind Chime” next week to kick off the sunny season.
The 991v2 from New Balance is the latest update in a long line of different iterations on classic 990 sneakers. Introduced late in 2023 on the heels of another updated model, the 990v6, the 991 has taken over as one of the mainstays of the brand’s Made in UK line, releasing regularly in fresh new styles.
This week, another release from the brand’s English manufacturing channels has surfaced, signaling the start of warm, sunnier months with a clean white slate. The 991v2 “Wind Chime” gives us a new fresh white color palette for New Balance sneakers, mixing a plain white mesh base with off-white suedes and metallic grey accents. The midsole unit comes in a pre-aged Vanilla tone to complete the look.

New Balance’s latest style of their Made in UK 991v2 has not been given a global release date yet, but is expected to arrive next week, on March 6th, 2025. The smooth “Wind Chime” colorway is expected to get a stateside release soon, and will come with a price tag of $250.
