Dingyun Zhang began his work with the Yeezy creative team in 2016, while still in school. Now, having established his own brand, he returns to the adidas family to craft his own take on the iconic Samba, coming soon.
Dingyun Zhang has quite a resume in the sneaker world, though his name is not as widely known as some. The designer was hired while still in school to work with Kanye West’s Yeezy in 2016, shortly after the debut of the adidas Yeezy line. He quickly went to work on the footwear family, helping to bring to life several important models like the 700 and Foam RNNR. Since then, Zhang has started his own line of clothing, for which he has become known for oversized puffer jackets and matching gear. Now, he has drafted his own take on the adidas Samba, which launched next week. The pair sports a glossy black patent leather base for the upper, adding a suede toe cap and lacing system. The collar has plenty of extra padding, nodding to his signature style.
