Carhartt WIP and Converse Reunite for Chuck 70s Made from Vintage Carhartt Workwear

Converse’s upcycling program continues this month, this time with some help from collaborator Carhartt WIP. Using an abundance of vintage workwear, the two have recrafted the Chuck 70 High in a clean new colorway, releasing later this week.

Converse’s Chuck 70 has gotten a lot of love in the past several years, having revamped the beloved silhouette with modern-day technologies. Since then, the silhouette has been on a winning streak of fun and exciting collaborations, from Scooby-Doo all the way to Kith. Along the way, the Chuck became heavily involved in the brand’s upcycling program, which makes new shoes out of scrap and leftover materials. Another of these sustainable releases is slated for this month, this time from Converse collaborator Carhartt WIP. For this project, the two raided the Carhartt archives of Beyond Retro vintage, pulling jackets and trousers in navy, tan, and black to create a three-paneled Chuck 70 made entirely from vintage workwear. While each shoe features one panel of each color, every pair is different thanks to varying stages in aging and wear.
