Early this year, Kiko Kostadinov and Asics launched their take on the GT-2160, dubbed UB6-S. The modified pairs used design elements from previous collaborative releases, applied to the freshly retroed silhouette. Now, more colorways have surfaced of the shoe, with two pairs coming soon for FW24.
Kiko Kostadinov first partnered with Asics in 2018, teaming up to create a number of signature silhouette that borrowed heavily from the Japanese brand’s extensive archives of running footwear. Since then, Kiko has ascended to the position of creative director for the SportStyle category, which blends their performance footwear with lifestyle purposes. While they’ve continued the true collaborations between the brands, a separate line of in-line products also sees seasonal releases, with design touches from Kiko and his team. Their next addition to this line is new colors of the UB6-S GT-2160, for Fall/Winter 2024.
The Kiko Kostadinov version of Asics’ GT-2160 makes some minor changes to the silhouette, adding an extra striped panel to the heels as well as the signature folded pull tabs on both tongues. For their next batch of colors of the UB6-S, two very different options are coming this Fall. First up, the “Azure” blue pair covers the mesh and toe layers in the soft blue shade, with white and golden yellow accents. The “Storm” brown pair covers the bulk of the silhouette in the chocolatey shade, with a hot pink accent and just a hint of vanilla yellow to complete the look.
ASICS UB6-S GT-2160 FW24 COLLECTION RELEASE INFORMATION
The next releases of the Kiko Kostadinov-designed Asics UB6-S GT-2160 have not been announced for release yet, but are currently expected to arrive sometime early in Fall 2024. Both the “Azure” blue and “Brown Storm” colorways will be available from both Asics’ website and select retailers for $150 each.
