The GEL-Lyte III is nearly forty years old, and still going strong. Originally release in 1987, the ASICS running shoe would quickly become one of their flagship models, evolving even further over the next few decades to be come one of the most iconic performance shoes of all time. Featuring the brand’s signature GEL cushioning and a still remarkably unique split tongue, the silhouette has stood the test of time. Last year marked thirty-five years of the iconic model, bringing us a wave of fresh styles that continues into 2023. This week, we have an early look at a ‘Rooibos’ color scheme, casting the shoe in shades of orange across and canvas and corduroy upper, constructed from recycled textiles.

ASICS’ next special-edition release of their classic GEL-Lyte III has not been given an official release date, though they are expected to launch sometime in the coming weeks. Dressed in ‘Rooibos’ orange and built with recycled textiles, pairs will be available from the brand’s website as well as select retailers for $140.
