The adidas Equipment line is gearing up to celebrate its 30-year-anniversary next year, meaning we can expect some incredible releases along the way. Today, we have an early look at the new Predator Accelerator 4D EQT, coming soon.
adidas Equipment was born in the 1990s and created to bring the Three Stripes back to its roots. At the time, running sneakers were growing increasingly over-the-top both in design and wild colorways. Enter footwear design legends Peter Moore and Rob Strasser. Poring over the brand’s design archives in Herzogenaurach, Germany, the narrowed down their goals for a new footwear line to one simple principle: “everything that is essential and nothing that is not.” This meant stripping back the ridiculous running shoes of the era, removing excessive overlays and wild colors to provide runners with the most essential parts needed for an excellent run. The Equipment line (or EQT for short) was a massive success, and still stands as many Three Stripes’ heads’ personal favorite projects. Now, as the brand gears up to celebrate 30 years of the eponymous line, a special edition Predator Accelerator has surfaced overseas, showing off a modernized soccer boot mounted on top of adidas’ signature 4D midsole unit. Titled the Predator Accelerator 4D EQT, the new silhouette appears to be the brand’s first entry in the anniversary celebration that is likely to kick off in the coming months.
