Over the last year, adidas has introduced a new line from their Originals team, inspired by the brand’s retro basketball shoes. The IIInfinity family is influenced by the original Kobe shoes from the late ’90s, and this month is adding a new member, the Nova IIInfinity, debuting in a “Bred” color scheme.
adidas first introduced the IIInfinity line last Summer, debuting the first model, the Crazy IIInfinity, through a collaboration with Jersey’s Packer Shoes. The silhouette was based on the original Kobe model he crafted with the Three Stripes back in 1997, and was built as a chunky, basketball-inspired lifestyle model. Since then, the line has expanded to include multiple takes on full sneakers, as well as a handful of different models of slides. Now, adidas is gearing up to introduce their latest: the Nova IIInfinity.
The newest addition to the adidas IIInfinity line is perhaps some of their best work yet. The Nova is a low-top model, with a largely suede upper molded to the shoe’s inner workings, creating a dynamic, wavy look. The Three Stripes are applied through perforation which adds breathability, while a sleek new midsole unit features distinctive arches for better support. Mesh tongues and heels open up the shoe even more, and this initial style adds just a hint of red to achieve its Bred look.
