Acronym and MSCHF’s Take on the Super Normal Releases in June

MSCHF’s reimagined iterations of iconic sneakers have caught the eye of Errolson Hugh and Acronym this season, and the tech designer will be lending his taste to the Super Normal silhouette, borrowing ideas first presented in the ACR x Nike Air Force 1, and reapplying them to MSCHF’s modified version of the similar silhouette.

Acronym’s take on the Nike Air Force 1 launched in 2015, when the brand’s founder, Errolson Hugh, was at the peak of his tenure as Nike ACG’s creative director. At the same time, Acronym was releasing regular collaborations with Nike, which would continue until their final team up with the Blazer Low in early 2022. Since then, MSCHF, the brand producing unusual footwear with some unlikely inspirations, released their first “in-line” model, the Super Normal, a wavy and warped version of the Air Force. Now, Acroynm has teamed up with MSCHF to release their take on the warped silhouette, taking some of their own design cues from the AF1 and applying them here. Shoe shoe is cast in white leather with bright green and black accents, adding the signature medial side zipper from Acronym’s Nike release nearly ten years ago.
