The adidas NMD is constantly going through new iterations, changing the look and materials for something new. This week, adidas has revealed a pair of black and white NMDs with a new twist in the upper, coming in December.
The adidas NMD lineup is ever expanding, though this year they’ve spent a significant amount of time with the OG silhouette, the R1. Now a beloved lifestyle shoe in the sneaker scene, the NMD first launched in 2015 as a modern runner inspired by three of their archive models, and utilizing the best materials adidas has to offer. As per their usual schedule, adidas is set to release a string of new NMD_R1 colorways for the new season, including this subtle new “one-piece” look. The two new colorways come with tonal white and black looks, made entirely from a knit textile-like material. The heel counters come with a new translucent look, showing off the numbers two and three beneath the surface. While it us currently unclear what the new symbolism means, adidas likely has some good storytelling behind it.

The new-look adidas NMD_R1 colorways are scheduled to hit shelves on December 1st, 2018. As usual, these NMDs will retail for $130, launching from both adidas and select retailers.
