Japanese sneaker retailer atmos has a number of projects launching throughout the rest of the year. This week’s release is a Tokyo-exclusive pair from adidas, revisiting the ZX 8000 and their iconic G-SNK editions with a new elements; glow-in-the-dark snakeskin paneling, releasing this Friday.
The ZX 8000 from adidas has been the subject of a wide range of collaborations designed by the Japanese retail chain atmos. The silhouette has been the centerpiece of their G-SNK series since its introduction in 2011. The ongoing series has issued eight different iterations so far, each casting the shoe in a slightly remixed version of a classic colorway or a brand new style, usually featuring vibrant neon shades. The signature piece of the G-SNK series is the snakeskin panels that make up the mudguard, eyestays, and heel counters, and for their next release, they’re adding a GITD elements to these portions.
The upcoming ZX 8000 from atmos and adidas is the ninth member of the G-SNK family. This pair casts the silhouette in one of its original color schemes, with a white nylon base layer, grey overlay panels, and vibrant aqua blue accents. Thirteen years after the original release, atmos has added a new element to the project, making the snakeskin portions of the shoes glow in the dark green.

Featuring the classic ZX 8000 in a glow-in-the-dark snakeskin look for this release, pairs will be available exclusively through atmos Tokyo’s website and retail stores, with a price tag of approximately $127.
