BAPE’s storied history of sneaker collaborations is adding another member to its catalog this month. This time, they have turned to Vans for a new project, whom they’ve only worked with a handful of times before. For this release, the Sk8-Hi and the Old Skool are getting the iconic Camo treatment, releasing next week.
Japanese streetwear label BAPE has a remarkable history of sneaker collaborations. Even with their own line of BapeSta sneakers, the brand still makes to time to regularly team-up with other companies to give their take on some iconic silhouettes, largely working with adidas over the last couple decades. Recently, they began a new partnership with Vans, applying their eye-catching design principles to the legendary skate brand’s footwear, and this week, the two have revealed their latest work for Summer 2024.
The upcoming collaboration between BAPE and Vans refreshes some classic Vans silhouettes with a new Camo collection. Revisiting both the Sk8-Hi and Old Skool for this release, each pair comes with the signature camouflage print in different forms and colors. The Sk8-Hi is the more simple look, pairing green camo midfoot panels with plain black suede for the rest of the shoe. The Old Skool switches things up, applying green camo to the left side of both right and left shoes, then switching to blue and red for the left and right shoe respectively. Each pair comes with the Bape Ape lace ornament to complete the look.
