adidas habit of pulling inspiration from their archival sneakers has been paying off for the last few years. This month, the brand is prepping the release of the Orketro, a wild new silhouette with running roots.
adidas’ aesthetic from the turn of the century has brought about plenty of long-lasting designs, and inspiring dozens of new styles in the more recent years. This week, the new Orketro is joining the Three Stripes’ arsenal, featuring an aggressive new look that looks straight out of the year 2000. The Orketro begins with a mesh base layer that runs from toe to heel of the silhouette. long, swooping synthetic pieces are added, giving the appearance of movement with their jagged teeth-like ends pointing towards the heels of the shoe. Next, the signature Three Stripes are overlaid on the outer toe, an atypical placement for the adidas branding. Finally, an adiPrene+ midsole provides cushioned comfort underfoot.
