Li Gong’s fashion label, 8ON8, has teamed up with ASICS to reimagine the classic GEL-Kayano 14 sneaker. This collaboration introduces two unique colorways, each blending retro aesthetics with futuristic elements.
The 8ON8 x ASICS Pack offers two distinct renditions. The first pair features an Indigo Blue upper with playful pink accents. The second pair takes on a more understated approach, featuring a Black base with green highlights. Li Gong adds a retrofuturistic twist with innovative materials and vibrant accents. The sneakers feature a blend of mesh and synthetic panels for a lightweight feel, combined with bold color pops that hint at a futuristic world. The accent colors are strategically placed on the ASICS logo atop the tongue, the lining of the Tiger Stripe logo, two eyelets, and the GEL-Kayano 14 branding on the lateral heel.
8ON8’s founder, Li Gong, brings his vision of youthful energy and past generations’ city life to this collaboration. His journey from Ningbo, China, to London, where he studied fashion from scratch, has shaped his unique aesthetic. This aesthetic is the backbone of his label since its founding in 2017.
