Part of Jordan Brand’s strategy to reinvigorate the brand in its 40th year is to bring back the Trunner family. Born in the Y2K year, the Trunner was conceived as an all-purpose hybrid running/training gym shoe who for athletes of all levels and concentrations, modeled by none other than top-level boxer Roy Jones Jr. and a few others. Original models included the Trunner LX and the Trunner Bubble, while later attempts to revive the category included the likes of the Trunner Alpha and Trunner Ultimate.
For 2025, Jordan Brand is taking far more of a lifestyle approach. For example, the Trunner LX–the most popular and recognizable member of the Trunner clan– will be back this Summer/Fall as a women’s exclusive lifestyle model. New offerings like the Trunner O/S are taking a clear-cut retro runner look, with many critics comparing the design to the New Balance 992 with a mid-foot overlay.
In addition to the all-grey colorway that surfaced earlier this year, an “Archaeo Brown/Persian Violet” colorway will also be in the works. Again, it’s clear that the Jumpman is eyeing the ever-popular 1980s/1990s era retro runner category based on the choice of colors and materials seemingly straight out of Action Bronson’s Baklava catalog.
This “Archaeo Brown” colorway is confirmed to launch this Fall 2025 season for $115 alongside a slew of other colorway options. See our Jordan Release Dates page for the latest.
