Paradoxically, adidas has picked up press for two contradicting endeavors: keeping prices constant in their catalog despite US tariffs, and raising the price for a slew of “Made In” releases, increasing material quality and partially given momentum by a link-up with JJJJound. Now stretching across many of the brand’s most beloved products, from the Samba, to the Superstar, to the Gazelle Indoor, the Three Stripes is ushering in another staple silhouette via the adidas Handball Spezial “Made In Germany.”
First looks at the shoe belie the premium atmosphere that it rides in on, turning down the harder compositional shifts seen on some of its predecessors. From a distance, we couldn’t fault you for mistaking these for a pair from the Sporty & Rich canon, yet the subtitle promises materials that are a cut above, specifically a “premium suede upper” with focus on quality and craftsmanship. A plush leather collar helps solidify that careful air, as does a sleek peripheral package wherein the shoebox gets an all-white overhaul and debossed “MADE IN_” branding.
Though an official stateside price tag hasn’t emerged just yet, the adidas Handball Spezial is listed on global sites with an equivalent price of $260/$270 USD. Catch on-white shots included below and keep our Sneaker Release Dates page close by for further updates.
