South2 West8 have been players in the outdoors gear space for two decades, yet it’s only recently they’ve begin to make their stamp in the realm of collaborative footwear. While they’ve notched more limited partnerships with KITH and On Running, Reebok has been their most steadfast partner in crime in that endeavor. Could it be fair to say that their latest, the South2 West8 Reebok Instapump Fury Mule, is their best to date?
For those only familiar with the street-valid formulation of the Instapump Fury, you’ll be best served checking in on the inline mule to easier understand this design. Spun off of that connecting step, South2 West8 ditches the molded front half of the model and replaces it with a plush, buffered fabric exterior that calls to mind insulated snow boots. Though derived from two different functionalities entirely, that puffy composition unexpectedly aligns well with the Pump tech that Reebok continues to champion, intact to allow for wearer-specific adjustment.
Keeping with their understated overall aesthetic, South2 West8 drops off two color options for this capsule, subtle black-on-green and green-on-black pairs. Each closes out with the Japanese imprint’s antlered logo on at the forefoot and on co-branded packaging.
The South2 West8 Reebok Instapump Fury has started populating overseas retailers, but an official Reebok launch hasn’t been announced just yet. Expect those details to clarify in the near future. In the meantime, check out shots of both colorways included below.
