Tyshawn Jones has been making headlines lately – not necessarily for his skating, but for filing a $26 million lawsuit against Supreme. After becoming sponsored as an 11 year old, the Bronx native is alleging the brand abruptly terminated his contract and made “malicious, false remarks” that prevented him from securing future work. Meanwhile, as lawyers from both sides get down to the brass tax of it all, Tyshawn’s relationship with his footwear sponsor in adidas is going swimmingly.
From June 5th–8th, adidas is hosting a New York City pop-up called Bronx News — a bodega-style experience paying tribute to Tyshawn’s roots. Located at 203 Spring Street – just a hop, skip, and a jump from Supreme’s New York City flagship – the event will feature a curated selection of Tyshawn’s favorite skate gear. An exclusive Thrasher x King Skateboards series will be available, as will Thunder trucks, Spitfire wheels, Hardies NYC apparel, and much more. Visitors can also try their luck with scratch-off tickets for a chance to win select products. Tyshawn and his crew will be making surprise appearances at the pop-up and will host a skate jam on June 7th.

To coincide with the event, adidas is rolling out a new colorway of the Tyshawn II. It’s got “Collegiate Navy” patent leather overlays, gold detailing, and an easygoing white/grey base. The navy and white palette, echoing Yankees uniforms, makes the Bronx News pop-up name all the more fitting. Moreover, as an added bonus, Tyshawn and co. will unveil another upcoming colorway at the pop-up on June 6th.
The “Collegiate Navy” Tyshawn II and a selection of matching apparel – including a track jacket, pants, and T-shirt — release June 1st via skate shops and adidas channels. The Bronx News pop-up will be open June 5th–8th from 1–8 PM daily at 203 Spring St, NYC.
