Though the PUMA Speedcat is currently leading the charge in the Big Cat’s foray into the fashion side, you can easily argue that we’ve seen the brand take more intriguing action with the Mostro. Most will likely be familiar with its appearances alongside A$AP Rocky, kitted in a 3D-printed build there, but outside of Flacko’s world the shoe is regularly changing shape, swapping into a ballet-inspired flat by way of in-house designers or becoming a mid-cut via Aries. Once again, the spiky silhouette is changing form, this time taking to Louis Gabriel Nouchi as the PUMA Mostro Mule.
You’ll immediately clock that the sharpened traction remains in place, but it’s a more complex transformation of the model than we’ve seen in other “mule-ized” takes. Rather than simply chopping off the back of the shoe and calling it there, PUMA and Louis Gabriel Nouchi deliver the Mostro Mule in a one-piece EVA Foam and rubber construction. Additionally, the duo creates a twisted, wavy foot entrance that partially assists with lockdown despite its earnest slip-on nature.
LGN executes tonal brown and green colorways for this delivery, but note that this isn’t the first overall drop. An all-black and all-white colorway preceded these pairs by about two months, with this news closing out “Chapter Two.” The Louis Gabriel Nouchi x PUMA Mostro Mule in brown and green is available now via the fashion label’s site. A wider launch is set for May 30th via select PUMA stockists, retailing at $150. For those interested, the black and white colorways alluded to in this piece are lingering around in select sizes: check HERE and HERE to grab yours.
