Oftentimes, the out-of-left-field, referential versions of the Nike SB Dunk capture public imagination, with the Wizard of Oz or Verdy serving as recent examples. However, the imprint’s work with actual skaters and skate shops is closer to its beating heart, spotlighting those keeping the sport alive. One of Nike SB’s most recent signees enters that canon via the Hayley Wilson Nike SB Dunk Low, now abutting its official release.
One of the fastest risers in Australia’s pro skate scene and a participant in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, further inducting Wilson into the brand’s upper echelon via their most famous model is only a natural choice. While the combination of purple suede, icy light blue outsoles, and black/white anchoring has been known for some time, drawing comparisons to classic SB pairs like the “Skeletor” in the process, some of the finer details that this shoe has to offer come to light with official Nike images.
Alternating masks and cracked stars peering through the translucent traction underfoot are the headliners, but the Medieval font seen on branding hits, a coy allusion to the skater’s initials within the heel stitching, and allusions to her star sign, among other personal iconography on the insole round out the elevated touches for this collab.

Following the usual cadence of Nike SB releases, the Hayley Wilson SB Dunk Low is due out via skate shops on June 5th, with a SNKRS release date marked for June 7th. A $140 retail price is expected, a $5 bump from the previous standard pricing for collaborations. Keep tabs on exactly what outlets will receive this pair via our Sneaker Release Dates page.
