Among several issues experienced during their last leadership regime, one of Nike’s most notable missteps was allowing newcomers like HOKA and On running to grab valuable territory in the running shoes market. Though the industry’s logistics mean that it was likely in the works for longer, the three-headed monster of the Vomero, Pegasus, and Structure is helping bring back the emphasis. As the ultra-cushioned Vomero Plus looms as the category’s newest entrant, we’re already getting a sense of some of the off-the-beaten path outfits it’ll wear in the coming months.
Indeed, a reverse Swoosh on the lateral side strikes as the most notable addition for this Vomero Plus, but it’s earnestly a replication of the “Nike Run Club” logo than any indication of Travis Scoot influence. However, the neutral tones of this shoe do speak to a similar aesthetic, hitting on the trendy, laid-back aesthetics that’ve creeped into performance wear in recent years, rather than the ultra-vibrant themes that dominated around the time of Nike’s “Volt”-powered kicks.
We’re still awaiting an official launch date for the Nike Vomero Plus, so there’s no concrete date for when this Reverse Swoosh edition will land. Be ready for a $180 sticker price whenever this shoe does touch down, likely sometime in the Fall 2025 shopping season.
