The Nike Shox TL Sprouts A “Wild Mango” Look

Despite not neatly fitting into the “retro runner” category, the Nike Shox TL and Shox R4 have still rose to become incredibly influential silhouettes on the back of Y2K fashion tastes. To this point, much of how the two models have accomplished this is with simplistic fare, yet a wave of gradient looks surfacing in recent weeks have shown a willingness to experiment. Next up in that crowd is the Nike Shox TL “Wild Mango.”

It may just be a bit of serendipitous titling, or it could be nominative determinism at work: the “Wild Mango” shade that engulfs the lower portion of the gradient ends up lending its look too much of the profile, looking down-right ripened as you work to the pale green heel tab and mesh throat of the shoe. Black synthetic anchoring on the underfoot pistons and TPU cages maintain a grounded atmosphere to keep things from going too far-flung or tropical.

Expect the Nike Shox TL “Wild Mango” to hit shelves in the coming weeks, retailing for $170 in men’s sizing. While you wait, check out official images included below. We’ll keep this page and our Sneaker Release Dates hub updated with the latest info on this pair.
