Sixteen years after its original release, we’re learning that the Nike Kobe 5 “Lower Merion Aces (Away)” will enter the Protro canon in 2026.
To the uninitiated, the sneaker tributes Kobe’s Philadelphia high school alma mater with a palette of “Metallic Silver/Team Red/White,” complete with the team’s card-inspired logo on the heel. The sneaker originally released in 2010 alongside another Kobe 5 PE; a green and yellow pair made for New York City’s Rice High School in Harlem, to which Kobe had deep connections. Images of the “Lower Merion Aces (Away)” Protro haven’t surfaced yet, but we’re expecting it to look identical to the original from 2010. Currently, we haven’t heard of any plans to bring back the white “home” colorway.
No release date for the Kobe 5 Protro “Lower Merion Aces (Away)” has been announced as of this writing, but we’ll update this article as soon as that changes. For now, enjoy detailed images of the 2010 release below.
