Nearly six years after signing on with Way Of Wade, D’Angelo Russell’s debut signature basketball sneaker is finally here. The Way Of Wade DLO1 releases exclusively through kickscrew.com on May 17th, carrying a budget-friendly price tag of $110.
Dwyane Wade’s sneaker brand – a subsidiary of China’s Li-Ning – has played a big role in cultivating the diverse hoops shoe market we see today. The brand’s “Make Your Own Way” motto has resonated deeply, with more and more NBAers opting for non-traditional routes over signing with bigger, most established sponsors. When D-Wade concluded his illustrious career in 2019, D’Angelo Russell, then of the Golden State Warriors, left Nike to become the face of Way Of Wade in the NBA. Now after years of championing the brand’s inline models, the standout guard is finally being rewarded with a sneaker of his very own.
The Way Of Wade DLO1 features a low-top height, wavy synthetic layering, and a loop-shaped TPU structure over the lateral side. This inaugural “Canvas” colorway is inspired by a painting created by D’Angelo’s son, taken with colorful illustrations atop the base, midsole, and outsole. Russell’s signature Way Of Wade logo appears on the heel, joined by a red pull tab reading “Family.”
“D’Angelo’s journey is a testament to hard work, growth, and the power of self-expression, and watching him create the DLO1 has been truly inspiring. He’s a perfect fit for Way of Wade because he values authenticity, creativity, and the drive to break boundaries like us. I’m proud to see him take this step, and with KICKS CREW by our side, we’re not just launching a product but sharing a powerful message that will inspire fans and athletes to create their own way with a brand that empowers them,” said Dwyane Wade.
As mentioned, the Way Of Wade DLO1 “Canvas” releases May 17th for $110 exclusively through KICKS CREW. The platform is also giving away a select number of free pairs to those who sign up for the launch here. Scroll through official images of the sneaker below if you’re moved to cop.
