The Nike Shox R4 Swaps Into Green On Its Classic “Metallic Silver”

How many variations of the Air Jordan 1 “Black Toe” have we seen? How many of the Air Max 1 “Infrared?” Hell, you don’t even have to look beyond this year — pairs like the Nike Air Max 95 “Mandarin” and Air Max 95 “Pink Foam” speak to why Beaverton is so willing to spin off the formulas of their most beloved product.

It’ll take some time before the “Picante Red” Shox R4 reaches that same level of influence, but Nike clearly think it’s a leader within the silhouette. The green edition featured here keeps the same black and silver split across the upper, only tinkering with that concept via the Shox cushioning under the heel that continue to peek out in the outsole. If this particular accent shade doesn’t entirely pique your interest, just stay tuned — “Mandarin Orange” and “Psychic Blue” spinoffs portend a full rainbow of similar looks coming down the pike.

The Nike Shox R4 in green and “Metallic Silver” should be populating Nike.com and retail shelves in the coming weeks. Expect the usual $150 retail price.
