The Nike Air Max Plus Isn’t Shy About Its Cushioning

The Air Max Plus stands as one of the boldest and most daring designs in the entire history of the Air Max lineage. Known for its striking, almost hypnotic “lava lamp” themed upper and a revolutionary full-length cushioning system, the Air Max Plus helped propel visible Air technology into a new era, offering an evolved take on the gas-filled chambers that had become synonymous with the Swoosh.

Few sneakers boast a cushioning setup as instantly recognizable and celebrated as the one found on the Air Max Plus. Now, this upcoming release takes the audacious spirit of the original even further by proudly showcasing oversized “Air” lettering across the upper — a bold design move that has never been attempted on the model before. Adding to the modern streetwear appeal, Nike also incorporates a functional lace-toggle system, blending performance utility often associated with the gorp-core aesthetic.

Although an official release date has yet to be announced, this highly anticipated version of the Air Max Plus is expected to arrive sometime during the Summer or Fall 2025 seasons.
