New Balance has been racking up wins when it comes to new/returning models in recent years. Look no further than the 2002R, 1906R, and ubiquitous New Balance 9060; be it through collaborations or GRs, the Boston brand simply knows how to resonate with consumers. The New Balance 2010 marks the brand’s latest lifestyle foray, and if recent trends are any indication, it’s got potential to reach a similar level of popularity.
Best described as a New Balance 9060 and New Balance 990v6 crossover, the 2010 offers a familiar aesthetic with a mesh base, curved upper paneling, and chunky sole unit. German retailer AFEW has this “Vintage Khaki/Green” colorway on its release calendar for April 30th, thus setting a debut date for the model. Earth-toned suede overlays are complemented by textured brown underlays, while teal-ish green mesh wraps the base. Grey suede appears around the eyelets and toe box. Reflective touches land on the tongue, toe, and New Balance quarter logos. The chunky midsole, engineered with curved lines and a midfoot plate, appears mostly in grey with blue hits around the heel.
As mentioned, the New Balance 2010 debuts in “Vintage Khaki/Green” on May 7th for a $160 retail price. Scroll through detailed images courtesy of AFEW below if you’re considering copping.
