ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 “Urban Research” Lands On March 28th

A masterful mix of greys arrive on the tech runner king.

ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 “Urban Research” Lands On March 28th

Are we reaching the end of the tech runner craze? The trend has been running longer than imagined, but with shoe fiends gobbling up every GEL-Kayano 14 that hits the market, this style wave doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon as long as ASICS has a say.

At the forefront of the massively successful mid-2000s championed aesthetic that has permeated sneaker culture worldwide, ASICS is keeping their foot on the gas with drop after drop. In fact, their in-line drops tend to be as much in demand as the brand’s collabs, and major credit should be given to the team behind the Japanese athlete brand’s Sportstyle division.

This upcoming colorway of Pure Silver and Black is officially dubbed the “Urban Research” edition, and the choice in shades seem to match the street-ready intent; rather than use the standard white mesh to counteract the shiny silver overlays, ASICS chooses a grey tone to exude even more of a metallic finish. Black hits on the ASICS strike logo and  GEL cushion as well as a dark grey midsole complete the darkened aesthetic that would gain the nod of Haven, the Canadian boutique that recently dropped one of the best collabs of the year.

You can find these on ASICS.com and select retailers on Friday, March 28th, 2025 for $155 (a Lincoln bill more than the standard pair).
