Updated March 19th, 2025: Official images of the Nike Book 1 “CHBL” have been updated, showcasing clearer looks at the overseas edition. Note that these are still expected to be a China exclusive despite these fresh looks. Catch the updated photos below and scroll further for our original coverage surrounding this pair.

Original article published March 10th, 2025: In December, we passed one full year of the Nike Book 1, easily one of the Swoosh’s most visible basketball model over that span and one that’s only increasing its profile via a heavy stream of exclusive PEs, PEs coming to the public, and the requisite dose of inline looks. Now adding to that pile is an international exclusive, as the Book 1 enters the canon of Nike’s “CHBL” Chinese Basketball commemorative colorways.

Those who were actively reading out coverage last year will know that Nike’s sponsorship of the varsity tournament got a public ode in a collection of special make-ups for their premier inline hoops models. For 2025, the scope is only increasing, having already chalked off a similar edition of the Luka 3. For its part, the Nike Book 1 chalks off its lightest pair this side of the “Forrest Gump” edition, delivering a slew of tone-on-white pops of color around the profile. The chainlink pattern on the heel delivers the light blue so often adapted in 2024’s CHBL pairs, while the velvet embroidery on the Swoosh delivers a copper-colored gradient that adds a ton of statement flair.

The Nike Book 1 “CHBL” is reportedly already available in China, almost assuredly remaining exclusive to that market. If you’re able to get your hands on a pair, be ready for the typical $140 retail price. Watch our Sneaker Release Dates page for any additional updates and check out in-hand shots included below.
