Tom Sachs Announces September Release For Nike Mars Yard 3.0

A first look is revealed.

Tom Sachs Announces September Release For Nike Mars Yard 3.0

The next Tom Sachs Nike Mars Yard sneaker release has been officially revealed, with a September 2025 release expected. The American artist just shared on Instagram the new details that come attached with the 3.0 iteration of one of the most compelling sneaker collaborations of the 21st century, a shoe that had a reputation for establishing a level of cool.

After alarming allegations of workplace misconduct surfaced in early 2023, Nike paused any and all projects with Sachs. At the time, the General Purpose Shoe was a massive hit; it was the first widely available Tom Sachs Nike sneaker and was intended to be an accessible option at just $109.99.

Last September, Nike officially announced that their partnership with American artist Tom Sachs would continue, officially confirming the release of a Mars Yard 3.0 shoe. This news was met with polarizing reception; some were pleased with the resuming of the Mars Yard and GPS program, while others saw this as a somewhat hypocritical move given the Swoosh brand’s rather firm stance on cutting ties with athletic and creative partners such as Kyrie Irving.

The new details are laid out in the infographic below; the most notable visual updates include the black rubber foxing at the toe, the red lace keeper on the tongue, the TPU heel clip, and the removal of the base of the lace collar. The full product breakdown is revealed below.

Tom Sachs Nike Mars Yard 3 0 Release Date 2

The Nike Mars Yard 3.0 is set to release this September 2025; it is unclear just how Nike will launch the shoe, but it is possible that an experiential activation similar to what was executed in 2017 for the 2.0 will be conducted for the release. An MSRP of $275 is also expected.
