Original article published February 12th, 2025: “Year of the Snake” celebrations may be mostly in the rearview, but “year of the snakeskin” in Beaverton is proudly marching on. Though the Lunar New Year made for some synergistic opportunities to spotlight the reptilian material, it’s truly been everywhere in 2025. A tacit confirmation that the exotic aesthetic will march on as the year continues now arrives with a new “Snakeskin” Dunk Low, additionally sporting ties to some other colorways we’ve seen in recent times.

This Air Force 1 that broke towards the end of January is the precedent in question, sporting the same debossed logo and perpendicular stitching on the tongue. In fact, this Dunk Low carries a palette of “Pearl White/Sail/Pale Ivory/Light British Tan,” essentially identical to that luxe AF1. While the addition of quilted snakeskin on the Swoosh and heel certainly draw more attention, it appears that this is part of a growing pack, perhaps aimed at bringing more elevated aesthetics to a few of Nike’s most reliable products.

We’ll sadly have to wait and see if there’s a more concrete narrative at play with this Nike Dunk Low “Snakeskin Swoosh,” but we likely won’t have to hold off too long. We’re expecting this pair to hit shelves in time for the Spring/Summer 2025 shopping seasons.
