The Nike Air Max Plus Wears A Stark Black And “Aurora Green” Gradient

We don’t need to tell you the absolute killing that the Air Max Plus has made in its past 20+ years on the shelves by way of gradient looks. The “Hyper Blue” and “Sunset” incited an ombre-centric run that’s stretched into making the Tn an inescapable sight in 2025. However, as the shoe continues to tack onto the Spring ’25 slate, “Aurora Green” Air Max Plus at hand sports one of the most eye-catching adornments we’ve caught in some time.

Part and parcel of these aforementioned ombre looks is a subtle, gradual shift from one tone to another, completely rejected with the shot featured here. Instead, an “oil meets water” hard break runs diagonally down the midline, ramping from jet black to the oceanic “Aurora Green” without taking much runway to do so.

Pairing that mesh portion with the midfoot “whale tail” in teal and various trim aspects in black makes for a well-justified colorway, but it can’t be overstated the unconventional look this shoe carries as a result of the choice on the upper. If nothing else, it makes for differing perspective when viewed from up top and from the side, perhaps a “business in the front” style argument to enter the rotation.

The Nike Air Max Plus “Aurora Green” should hit Nike.com and local retailers in the coming weeks, retailing for $180. Check out official images below and tap in to our Sneaker Release Dates page for further updates on this shoe’s launch.
