Jordan Brand’s loud marketing for the Jordan 1 ’85 Bred has centered wholly around one question; what if we didn’t pay the fine? The Jumpman blacked out images of Jordan 1s on the Nike website, handed out “fines” to those wearing AJ1s on the Nike campus, and most recently launched a Grammy’s ad spot that highlights some of their most significant signature athletes and partners. Travis Scott’s starpower is being used to boost the “Black Toe Reimagined ” Jordan 1, scheduled to release a day after the “Bred” 85s on February 15th.
While now part of the Jumpman’s UNBANNABLE series, the “Black Toe Reimagined” was originally scheduled to release in the final quarter of 2024 but was hastily pulled due to a lukewarm reception. A huge number of pairs had already arrived at retailers, with the model now going for under retail on most aftermarket sites despite not yet officially dropping. Perhaps this was their plan all along, but Jordan Brand is now looking change sneakerheads’ tune by attaching the shoe to their most hyped collaborator.
It remains to be seen if La Flame’s co-sign will support demand, but we’d be remiss to ignore the fact that Nike Dunks skyrocketed in popularity when Scott was seen courtside rocking grails like the “Paris” SB and “Wu-Tang” in the late 2010s. Granted, Scott’s part in the UNBANNABLE campaign isn’t as organic by comparison.
The “Black Toe Reimagined” Jordan 1 goes for $180 and will be available via Nike SNKRS and retailers on February 15th, 2025. See official images below and return to our “Where To Buy” section below if you’re moved to cop.
