Should the Infrared make a return?

Nike Returns To OG Color-Blocking For The Air Max 90’s 35th Anniversary

Milestone anniversaries for sneakers typically yield a return of original colors in an effort to reset and rejuvenate its relevancy and awareness. No such plans seem to be in place for the Air Max 90 in 2025, although a 35th birthday is typically not a cause for celebration.

Still, Nike’s going hard on this Tinker Hatfield-designed model this year. Several new GR colorways are emerging week in and week out to dot the seasonal product line-up, while unique executions like the Air Max 90 “Volcano” and Air Max 90 “Carbon Fiber” are due out for the end of February.

For those who prefer a classic, understated look, Nike is ushering back an OG-style color-blocking via the light grey uppers, black mudguard, and white sport mesh toe, accenting the familiar package with hits of a neon green on the heel, eyelet, and midsole.

You can find these very soon on Nike.com and partnering retailers for $130. In other Air Max updates, here’s what to know about the Air Max DN8 “Hyper Pink” launching on February 6th.
