The executive duo of Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson are driving Reebok back into the performance basketball market. Debuted by WNBA star Angel Reese back in September of 2024, the Engine A marks the New England brand’s first true performance model since the early 2010s. The “Metallic Silver” colorway shown above debuts on February 13th, with more looks slated to roll out throughout the course of 2025.
Remembering the past while embracing the present, the Engine A packages modern performance tech into a design inspired by the Mobius line of the 1990s. Its lightweight exoskeleton delivers a retro look and feel, also offering a supportive yet breathable fit. Reebok’s nitrogen-infused SuperFloat foam supports energy return within an EVA midsole, and the outsole features a multi-directional herringbone pattern for traction.
The rollout will be supported by Reebok’s global roster of sponsored hoopers, which the brand calls Team RBK.B. Nate Ament, one of the strongest players in the 2025 high school class, testifies on the Engine A’s performance: “A locked-in fit, great bounce and ample traction for quick moves, plus a look and design like no other. I’m excited to see it on the feet of hoopers of all levels.”
The Engine A retails for $120 – quite a bargain in today’s sneaker economy – and will be available via reebok.com on February 13th, 2025. See official images below if you plan on testing out a pair.
