It’s a playbook that nearly every brand dips into: debut something in a collab before spreading it through the mainline shortly after. While the latency between the work of Wales Bonner and the “Cheetah” Sambas is a bit wider than usual, the animal print is beginning to crop up throughout the Three Stripes catalog, now stretching onto the adidas SL72 “Cheetah Pack.”
A spotlighted model in 2024 and one that isn’t showing any signs of slowing down as time goes on (see the Bad Bunny adidas adiZero that landed towards the end of December), the SL 72 is a natural next choice in the lifestyle class. While the print doesn’t change between the shoes in this “Cheetah Pack,” each executes different takes on the idea. One doubles down on the palette at the center of this collection, adding bright orange accents and sprightly white branding notes. The other goes darker and more contrasting, Trading the print from the heel counter and mudguard for jet black fur, with pine green detailing on the midsole and laces, still maintaining a bit of animated character.
Both shoes are expected to land alongside one another as part of the Three Stripes’ Spring 2025 offerings. Though retailing pricing isn’t confirmed, a slight premium on the model’s usual $100 MSRP is likely.
