The Nike Air Max Sunder Premium “Hemp” Drops Nylon For Brown Leather

A contemporary look for 2000s cult classic.

The Nike Air Max Sunder Premium “Hemp” Drops Nylon For Brown Leather

Nike’s decision to bring back the Air Max Sunder in 2024 was a wise one. The OG “Canyon Gold” colorway was met with plenty of fanfare, Los Angeles streetwear brand Kids Of Immigrants submitted one of the best collaborations of the year, and subsequent gradient colorways have done well to keep energy around the model high.

While more OG-inspired colorways appear to be anchoring the model in early 2025, the Beaverton brand is also coming out with a mold-breaking, premium “Hemp” edition featuring a handful of contemporary-leaning texture swaps. Official images reveal brown leather instead of nylon up top, complemented by a tan leather mudguard portion featuring white TPR pods. Those same two colors touch up the midsole and outsole, while a metallic silver mini Swoosh adds another dash of sophistication. All told, the design moves away from the sporty aesthetics of the 2000s in favor of a more lifestyle-focused aesthetic, not unlike your occasional Air Max Plus among other mainline Air Max silos.

The premium “Hemp” Air Max Sunder doesn’t have a solid release date or price yet, but extended women’s sizes are expected to touch down during the Spring 2025 shopping season (aka, before the end of March). Sticking with the model at hand, check out the Doernbecher Air Max Sunder.
