“Hyper Violet” Coats The Nike Air Max Sunder

Things couldn’t have gone better for the Nike Air Max Sunder in 2024. After positive reactions to mainline releases, the shoe vaulted to the top of Sneaker of the Year discussions in Q4 with an assist from Kids of Immigrants, issuing two gradient-heavy looks in the closing days of the year. Beaverton is looking to continue that momentum into 2025, and if all the looks are as captivating as the “Hyper Violet” at hand, there’s a decent chance they’ll be successful in that.

Centered around a gradient between the vivid titular shade at the heel and more delicate “Hydrangeas” towards the toe, this edition relies on a well-established color-blocking scheme we’ve spotted on several occasions before this. Even if this has become the “default” arrangement for the shoe, it’s hard to deny its impact, with the accent shading bringing vibrant pop atop the bulky hardware that brings the silhouette its charm. Though soon it’ll have competition in the turn-of-the-century retro market via the Air Max Craze, smart money is on continued impact for the Air Max Sunder all throughout the year.

The Nike Air Max Sunder “Hyper Violet” will likely land on shelves for Spring/Summer 2025. Be ready for the usual $180 retail price.
