New Balance 1906R Spring 2025 Preview

It’s a wonderful time to be invested in New Balance, both literally and figuratively. The Boston brand reported 23% revenue growth in 2023, and all indications are we can expect more strong numbers when the full accounting of 2024 is made public.

If there’s any one sneaker that can be attributed to the company’s success, it’s hands-down the New Balance 1906R. The trending late-2000s model is one of the leaders of the technical runner movement, achieving broad mainstream popularity while also driving eyes to the brand’s more cost-conscious models like the 530 and newly-reintroduced New Balance 740 (not to mention an abundance of spinoffs like the 1906 loafer).

As the 1906R authors its next chapter in 2025, we’ve uncovered seven new colorways poised to hit shelves in the near future. About half of the selection hones in on monochromatic fusions of black, grey, and silver, while the other consists of more colorful takes. Notables include a navy blue edition crafted with nubuck overlays, a playful pink and gold pair, and a khaki look featuring tan and brown.

No release dates have been announced just yet, but all seven options are expected to release during the Spring 2025 shopping season (January-March) for the usual $155 retail price. Scroll down the page and find something that piques your interest.
